Description
Description: Chinese porcelain blue and white jar decorated with the double happiness character on both sides, over a finely drawn pattern of pea wine scrolls. These jars are extremely common, being intended as marriage gifts. This one has an uncommon squatter shape, a nice strong blue and the painting of the scrolls is of high quality, which is unusual for this type of jars. All this is supporting a dating to the mid 19th century.
