O14 A hornbill “Lotus pond” snuff bottle

Description

Description:  Chinese hornbill snuff bottle, carved on both sides with lotuses and cranes. The red of the narrow sides, which is usual for this type of bottles, is in this case particularly dark and vivid. The handles are shaped as double gourds.

Size:  56 mm high

Stopper:  Hornbill, including stem and spoon. Original.
