Square plate with hotei, Kakiemon XII (1917-1963)

Description

Square plate from the early to mid-20th century, showing Hotei, one of the seven lucky gods of Japanese mythology, with his sack and staff.  It was produced by Sakaida Kakiemon XII.  The last pictures show the lid of the tomobako (the original box) that the plate came in.
