Description

Bronze mirror from the late Edo period.  It is decorated with a bird sitting under a bamboo plant as well as a fan of the type used during sumo tournaments by the referee.

"Fujiwara Mitsumasa". The fujiwara family were the best-known makers of mirrors in Japan in the 19th century.
