Description

Arita bowl from the mid-Edo period.  In the well, various fish and marine plants.  Around the rim, abstract diaper patterns.  The rim itself shows a brown glaze (kuchibeni or “lipstick” glaze).  On the reverse vines, leaves and blossoms.
