Description

Imari cup from the from the mid- to late Edo periodOn the outside a phoenix as well as cherry blossoms.  The inside rim is decorated with abstract diaper patterns, which are replicated in the well, surrounding a (spurious) Chenghua mark.

"Dai Min sei ka nen sei" (Da Ming Chenghua nian zhi) in the well, as well as an undecipherable mark (possibly a variant of "fuku") in a double square on the reverse.
