Description

Wooden plate from the Meiji period, decorated with gold and silver lacquer on a black background.  In the centre, two Japanese men playing go sitting in a dramatic landscape with mountains, a waterfall and a pagoda.  Around the rim stylised chrysanthemums and prunus blossoms.
